European City of Sport 2028
Brescia is officially European City of Sport 2028. Aces rewards the city's journey in promoting sport as a tool for health, inclusion, education, and socialization.
At the center is also the new sports district of Sanpolino, with the multipurpose indoor facility and the Olympic preparation center for artistic gymnastics.
But sport in Brescia is above all a widespread network: 298 facilities, 622 activity spaces, and nearly 70 thousand people who practice sports regularly.
From large facilities to neighborhoods, from young people to the elderly, from sports clubs to projects in parks, the goal is to make physical activity increasingly accessible and close to daily life.
The journey will continue in the coming years with new interventions and with the Sport Plan, to increasingly connect sport, health, school, welfare, and sustainability.
The official ceremony will be held on October 26 at the Coni in Rome.
But the point is this: Brescia is not just preparing to experience 2028. It is preparing to make sport an increasingly important part of the city's life.
