Posters and carpets tell the story of war and peace through different languages. From November 12 to 29, the MITA – International Museum of Antique Carpets hosts "Just Be Beside Me", an exhibition that puts the graphic works of Armando Milani in dialogue with the textile iconographies of Afghanistan. Curated by Ilaria Bignotti and Giovanni Valagussa, the exhibition presents a selection of posters by the famous Italian designer alongside rugs made in the 1980s, after the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. In the fabrics, tanks, helicopters, and weapons intertwine with traditional decorative motifs, transforming everyday objects into testimonies of a period of conflict.
