The route

Trail 13 develops as a loop that embraces the summit of Mount Maddalena, offering an immersive experience in the heart of Brescia’s natural landscape. The departure and arrival coincide with the small hill on which stands the Church of Maria Maddalena, a spiritual and panoramic landmark.

The walk begins with a stone staircase on the east side of the church, which leads into the woods below. Here, the trail intertwines with Trail 2, which heads towards the Fontanù Pool through a birch corridor, creating an almost magical atmosphere.

Continuing, the route enters a wooded environment rich in birch, chestnut, maple, oak and hornbeam trees. The lush vegetation and the presence of ferns, lichens and mosses contribute to an atmosphere of tranquility and contemplation.

Along the way, you come across a centuries-old oak tree that holds two small plastic madonnas, probably left by devotees or visitors. This simple yet meaningful gesture adds a touch of spirituality to the journey, inviting reflection and connection with nature.

Trail 13 intersects with other routes, such as Trail 5 and the Pool Trail, offering the opportunity to further explore the area and tailor the hike to your preferences.
