The Greenway of Valle Trompia, also known as the Mella Cycle Route, is a cycling itinerary that links the city of Brescia to Bovegno, set in the beautiful natural landscape of Valle Trompia. This route follows the course of the River Mella and is a real gem for cycle tourists, offering a unique combination of natural scenery and historical and cultural heritage.

Starting from Brescia, famous for its rich historical and cultural legacy, the route winds along the River Mella, through landscapes of lush nature and evocative river views. The itinerary is enriched by a series of small villages and towns that tell the story and traditions of Valle Trompia, with the chance to visit ancient buildings, museums and sites of historical interest.

Continuing northwards, the cycleway penetrates deeper into the valley, revealing increasingly striking and unspoilt panoramas. The route becomes not only a physical journey but also a cultural one, where you can admire old forges and evidence of the area’s important ironworking tradition.

As you approach Bovegno, the landscape becomes more mountainous, with the peaks of the Brescia Pre-Alps forming a dramatic backdrop. This part of the cycle route is ideal for those seeking more of a physical challenge, but also for anyone wishing to enjoy the peace and beauty of the Lombard mountains.

The Greenway of Valle Trompia is therefore much more than a simple cycling experience: it is an immersion in the history, culture and nature of the valley — a journey that captivates and inspires, suitable for cyclists of all levels and interests.
