Greenway of Valle Trompia “Mella Cycle Route”

The Trompia Valley Greenway, also known as the Mella Cycle Route, is a cycle touring route that connects Brescia to Bovegno, immersed in the natural setting of the Trompia Valley. This route, which follows the course of the Mella River, is a real gem for cycle tourism lovers, offering a unique combination of natural landscapes, historical and cultural heritage.

The southern stretch: from the city to the valley

Starting from Brescia, the route develops along the Mella River, crossing green areas and river landscapes. In this stretch, you'll find villages and municipalities that tell the story and traditions of the Trompia Valley, among historic buildings, museums, and testimonies of the past.

The route is even more continuous today thanks to the completion of the 800 m long cycle/pedestrian section to the south, which connects the A4 motorway underpass to Via Orzinuovi. The new section integrates with the one built previously, during the construction of the bridge connecting it to the Municipality of Roncadelle, improving the overall usability of the Greenway.

The northern section: towards the Brescia Pre-Alps

Continuing northwards, the cycle route enters the Val Trompia, offering increasingly picturesque and unspoilt views. The route also takes you on a journey through the region’s industrial history, past ancient forges and reminders of the local ironworking tradition.

As you approach Bovegno, the landscape takes on a more mountainous character, with the Brescia Pre-Alps forming the backdrop. This section is ideal both for those seeking a more dynamic experience and for those wishing to immerse themselves in tranquillity and nature.

The Val Trompia Greenway is much more than just a cycling experience: it is a route that traverses history, culture and nature, offering a journey accessible to all.

At the same time, it is a cycle and pedestrian route that crosses the town from north to south, connecting neighbourhoods and neighbouring municipalities. An infrastructure designed to really work: wide, well-lit, accessible paths, free of barriers and with more greenery along the route.
