THE THEATER

Located in the bustling medieval district of San Giovanni, right next to Palazzo Bargnani, the building was designed around the middle of the 18th century. Right from its inauguration in 1768 as the church of the Confraternity of the Most Holy Trinity of the Pilgrims dedicated to Saint Charles Borromeo, the building was known as 'San Carlino' in order to distinguish it from the pre-existing church of San Carlo della Casa di Dio.

Deconsecrated the very next century, over time the building was put to different uses: first a parish youth centre, then a school gymnasium and later a warehouse.

The passage of time, however, has done nothing to detract from the charm of the structure, which still impresses with its elegant Botticino marble plinth and the Ionic pilasters of the façade that invite visitors to cross the threshold to admire the frescoes by Pietro Scalvini and Francesco Fontebasso.

Today, following a thorough renovation, the building has opened its doors to the encounter with culture, transformed into a dedicated space for events and conferences: a location that combines art and history in a unique atmosphere.
