Acqua Park

Acqua ParkLargo Torrelunga, 7 - Brescia
Between largo Torrelunga and via Fratelli Lechi, right in the centre of Brescia, lies a park unlike any other. Spread over 11,500 square metres, the Parco dell’Acqua, or Water Park, is an urban oasis that combines green spaces, memory and sustainability. A place where you can relax... or discover something you didn't know.
From boats to workshops
In Roman times, this area was the city's trading port. In 1888, the area saw a change of use: a fish farming station was set up by ichthyologist Eugenio Bettoni.
Ponds, laboratories and a library were built to study and protect the fish in the rivers of northern Italy.
After years of scientific activity and then abandonment, in 2008 the municipality reclaimed the area and started a redevelopment project that also unearthed the ancient Venetian walls. A rare mix: submerged history made visible again.
AmbienteParco: knowledge you can touch
Since 2010, the park has hosted AmbienteParco, an interactive science centre on environmental sustainability.
Here, adults and children learn through play. Schools, families, and the simply curious can all find insights into our relationship with nature.
The jewel in the crown? An aquarium with an underwater tunnel, integrated into a man-made lake, for a unique experience in the heart of the city.
Today the Water Park is a place for meeting, for learning, for ideas, where you can read in the shade, talk about the future, explore the connections between nature, the city and change
