The Natural Science Museum of Brescia is a place where nature speaks and science becomes an experience. A museum designed for everyone, young and old alike, where you can explore natural environments, animals, plants, and the phenomena that govern the Earth up close.

A JOURNEY INTO NATURE

The museum was founded in 1960 thanks to the commitment of scholars, researchers, and enthusiasts from the area. From the outset, its goal was to collect, preserve, and recount the local natural heritage, becoming a point of reference for scientific dissemination.

Over the years, the museum has grown, enriching its collections and opening its doors to generations of curious visitors, always keeping alive the dialogue between science, nature, and the community.

The museum houses a rich collection that recounts biodiversity, the evolution of species, and the processes that shape the Earth. From geology to zoology, each room is a plunge into the wonders of nature, designed to stimulate curiosity and a desire for discovery. It is a museum that speaks to everyone.

Part of the Brescia Museums Foundation, the Natural Science Museum is an important part of the city's cultural system. It helps to promote knowledge of the environment and local scientific heritage, strengthening the link between nature, culture, and community. A museum that looks to the future without forgetting its roots.

The educational activities of the Natural Sciences Museum are temporarily moving to the Castle, among the bastions and gardens of one of the city’s most iconic places. The relocation is due to renovation works starting in spring 2026 to renew the museum’s ground floor, with new spaces dedicated to science communication, educational activities, and public participation. The new exhibition layout will place special emphasis on the geo-biodiversity of the Brescia Hills Park. In the meantime, activities will continue at the Castle thanks to the collaboration with Fondazione Brescia Musei.
