On 9 May 1950, a simple yet powerful idea was born: a united, free and tangible Europe. Today, that vision is a reality. And Brescia lives it every day. In 2026, Europe Day will celebrate its 40th anniversary, coinciding with the accession of Spain and Portugal and its most powerful symbols: the flag and the Ode to Joy. That is why the city is not stopping at just one day. It is relaunching.
With ‘European May 2026’, Brescia is launching a whole month of events, meetings and opportunities to understand, participate and build.
A project shared with Europe Direct and local organisations: universities, associations, institutions and young people.
Here, Europe is not just theory. It is culture, mobility, sustainability and everyday life.
