On May 9, 1950, a simple yet powerful idea was born: a united, free, and tangible Europe. Today, that vision is a reality—and Brescia lives it every day. In 2026, Europe Day marks its 40th anniversary, alongside the entry of Spain and Portugal and its most powerful symbols: the flag and the “Ode to Joy” anthem. For this reason, the city doesn’t stop at a single day. It relaunches.

With “European May 2026,” Brescia opens an entire month of events, meetings, and opportunities to understand, participate, and build. A shared project with Europe Direct and local organizations: universities, associations, institutions, and young people.

Here, Europe is not theory. It is culture, mobility, sustainability, everyday life. An open journey for everyone, to feel part of something greater.
