COLORS, SCENTS, AND TRADITIONS
On 15 February, Brescia celebrates San Faustino, the city's patron saint, with a colourful event that has something for everyone.
THE FAIR
With more than six hundred exhibitors bringing the streets and alleys to life, for the occasion the city's historical centre is filled with handicrafts, local delicacies and pop entertainment amid a lively and carefree atmosphere that represents a fantastic opportunity to experience Brescia at its most vivacious.
The packed programme of initiatives, which includes religious celebrations, markets, entertainment events and special openings of exhibitions and shops, culminates in the traditional ceremony of the Galero Rosso: a procession which sees the parish priest of San Faustino parade to Palazzo Loggia to present the mayor of the city with a carmine-red hat, symbolising protection and benevolence.
With shopping, ancient traditions, concerts and guided tours, the San Faustino Fair is an unmissable opportunity to enjoy Brescia by blending in with the locals and savouring an authentic experience.
