An evening with friends in Paris is unexpectedly transformed. Astrophysicist Henri and his wife Sonia, a financial lawyer, host an aperitif with Professor Hubert Finidori and his wife Inès. Henri hopes for Hubert's support for his paper on dark matter, but the evening takes an unexpected turn: Hubert reveals that another researcher is about to publish on the same topic, triggering Henri's frustration.
