Europe Lessons returns with four events at the Teatro Sociale, created by Centro Teatrale Bresciano and ILuoghi, and coordinated by Lorena Pasquini, researcher in European Integration History. These meetings explore Europe’s cultural identity—a continent always in fragile balance, caught between dreams of unity and disruptive forces, in a never-ending search for itself. Each session blends reflections and analysis from leading national and international scholars with actors’ readings of documents and literary texts.
The four meetings:
Saturday, March 28 - Europe captive. Western Identity According to Milan Kundera
Saturday, April 11 - Czesław Miłosz's Family Europe
Saturday, April 18 - Then he caught the Europicolas: Joyce, Trieste, Europe.
Saturday, May 9 - The Canvas of Europe: Renaissance and Memory in WG Sebald. This last lesson is enriched by the music of an ensemble of young musicians from the Brescia Youth Orchestra conducted by maestro Davide Pozzali.
