As part of the Brescia Photo Festival, MITA presents “MARAMAO”, an exhibition that brings together documentary photography and Chinese textile traditions, offering a glimpse into the political and cultural transformations of 20th-century China.
Caio Mario Garrubba’s photographs, taken in 1959 during a rare trip to Maoist China, are interwoven with propaganda artefacts and Chinese carpets, creating a visual narrative that blends history, ideology and representation.
The exhibition opening will take place on Friday 27 March 2026 at 7.00 pm at MITA.
