At the Pinacoteca Tosio Martinengo, in dialogue with the exhibition at the Santa Giulia Museum, Grace / Grazia takes shape. Bruce Gilden for Raphael, a site-specific installation that short-circuits photography and the Renaissance.
The project features a photographic diptych by Bruce Gilden, inspired by Raphael's Angel and the Redeemer, works temporarily absent because they are on loan to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The images, designed specifically for the Pinacoteca space, reflect on the theme of presence and absence.
Supported by the Ministry of Culture's Photography Strategy 2025, the work enters the permanent collection and renews the dialogue between eras: grace as balance in Raphael, as urgency and demand in the faces photographed by Gilden.
