In July 1826, during excavations in the Capitolium area, the Winged Victory was unearthed, one of the most important Roman bronzes that has come down to us and today a symbol of Brescia. An exceptional discovery that marked the beginning of a journey destined to transform the city's relationship with its history, giving rise to the first city museum and, over time, to the current system of Civic Museums.
To celebrate the bicentennial of the discovery, Fondazione Brescia Musei offers a rich program of events, special visits, workshops, performances, and activities dedicated to citizens and visitors from July 16 to 20.
Five days to rediscover the history of the Winged Victory and the deep connection between Brescia and its cultural heritage.
