The route
Trail 6 of Mount Maddalena begins along Via Panoramica, where the journey begins through a series of stone steps that wind through a closed and winding road, marking the first gesture of the climb. It's not just nature: already in the first steps you can breathe history, legend and local testimony.
After passing the initial hairpin bend, you proceed along an old mule track that winds through historic villas. Halfway up stands the small church of San Fiorano, a place steeped in memory: it is said that, in 1438, Saints Faustino and Giovita protected the city by repelling cannons during the siege of Brescia. Also located here is Bonomini's tomb, a small funerary temple designed by Rodolfo Vantini.
The route then reconnects with the stone ramps that climb along Via Panoramica and lead towards the Sanctuary of Patrocinio, offering panoramic views and sections immersed in the woods. You come across the Medaglioni area, an old school, a small fountain and the junction with path 3V, which accompanies much of the path of path 6.
After crossing a paved section, take Via Buttafuoco which acts as a mule track towards the foot of the Vedetta restaurant. Further on, you take the path along the oak forest, wooded paths (including the Sentiero delle Pozze, n. 13) intertwine and pass through smaller passes until you reach the final reliefs. Along the way, you can sense the silence of the places, where remains such as the ruins of the former cable car station – decommissioned in 1969– testify to the evolution of the mountain in its most recent phases.
