Trail n. 2

Trail 2, also known as Trinale, starts in Sant'Eufemia, on Via 28 Marzo, following a long initial step that leads to the actual start of the trail.

The climb offers views of Sant'Eufemia: sunny houses, rocks, until you reach the actual start of the trail.

The route passes through wooded areas, alternating between sunny and rocky sections (limestone rocks).

Along the climb you can identify points of natural interest: Pozza Valle Landa (considered “the most beautiful” on the mountain), the karst gorge of the Carobbio Valley with its caves, areas of meadows rich in insects, butterflies, bees, typical forest vegetation (white hornbeam, English oak, field maple, chestnut, fern, birch, blueberry)

There are intersections with other paths (e.g. 3, 4, 12, 13, 14) that connect various sections of Mount Maddalena.

In the final part, a stretch of vegetation (birches) is followed until it emerges into a grassy expanse, where the Church of Mary Magdalene is located.

Pozza Valle Landa; Valle Carobbio karst gorge and associated caves; intersections with other paths; “flag bearer” in stone; Madonnina delle Nevi; Pozza Zezia; Pozza Darnei; Church of Maria Maddalena.

Technical difficulty / notes

Path “rocky” with exposed sections, to be traveled with caution.
