Caionvico Link Route

A short but essential link. Between quarries, village and hillside.

The route

It’s a short stretch, but a strategic one. It connects the Parco delle Cave with the Parco delle Colline, passing through the hamlet of Caionvico. Part of it follows the busy Via Serenissima, but it’s a safe and necessary walk that takes you somewhere worth reaching.

In Caionvico you’ll find public parks such as Vento del Mascheda Park and Parco Panazza, but above all a precious access to trails 544 and 546 for Mount Maddalena.

This is not a route to simply contemplate, it’s one to walk. It’s a bridge. And every green network needs bridges to hold its best parts together.

What to see

MUM – Metro Urban Museum. Buffalora: where the metro becomes museum #5.
In Sant’Eufemia, urban art has taken over the metro depot.
With 600 m² of painted walls and four trains transformed into works of art, the MUM is the first open-air (and on-the-tracks) museum in Italy.

It’s not just street art: it’s a statement. Neighbourhoods don’t ask for space, they claim it. In colour.

Useful information:

Metro Urban Museum is open to the public, by reservation by writing to comunicazione@bresciamobilita.it

Visits are organized for groups of minimum 15 – maximum 40 people.

Visit duration approximately 45 minutes.

A slice of Mediterranean above Brescia.
It sounds incredible, but on Monte Mascheda, above Caionvico, Mediterranean coastal vegetation grows. Thanks to its south-facing exposure and unique microclimate.
Among rocks, caves and dry grasslands, you’ll find pistacia terebinthus shrubs and tree heather. A small treasure chest of biodiversity, just waiting to be discovered on foot.

Useful information

The route starts from the Sant'Eufemia– Buffalora metro terminus and continues towards Caionvico. The area is also served by bus line 11 towards Botticino, useful for reaching the hamlet, and by line 3 towards Rezzato, convenient for any intermediate returns.
