Not far from Piazza Loggia, the Diocesan Museum promotes the protection and enhancement of the artistic and religious heritage of the Diocese of Brescia through the planning of educational and training activities.
THE MUSEUM
Housed in an elegant sixteenth-century building, originally home to the convent and church of the Franciscans Minor, the Museum presents itself as a treasure trove of artistic and cultural treasures.
The collection, consisting of over two thousand works, approximately two hundred of which are exhibited in the twenty-three rooms of the recently renovated permanent exhibition, is divided into four main sections dedicated to painting and sculpture, illuminated manuscripts, sacred goldsmithing, and liturgical textiles.
In addition to a large and valuable collection, the Museum boasts excellent accessibility that promotes the inclusion of blind people by providing guided tours and an innovative multisensory room of darkness that allows you to perceive a work by Moretto, The Madonna and Child in Glory, through an original and effective approach.
