C.AR.M.E. – Centro Arti Multiculturali e Etnosociali (Multicultural and Ethnosocial Arts Center) is located in the Carmine district, one of the liveliest and most multi-ethnic areas of Brescia, and hosts contemporary art events in their most diverse forms, ranging from exhibitions to live performances, cinema, and digital culture.
THE CENTER
Located inside the former Church of Saints Philip and James, a building constructed in the late 12th century and modified several times in the following centuries, C.AR.M.E. designs and implements a series of activities that come together in a program consisting of major events, designed to bring the most interesting languages and trends on the national and international scene to the city, and local initiatives such as laboratories, workshops, and conferences shared with the citizens.
Thanks to its location at a crossroads of cultures, associations, and forms of aggregation, C.AR.M.E. works in synergy with the cultural, ethnic, and social fabric of the neighborhood to promote and develop contemporary art through productions that are truly accessible to an extremely diverse audience, ensuring that culture and community can meet in an open and dynamic environment.
