A new section of the Santa Giulia Museum tells the story of medieval Brescia through its symbols.
The permanent exhibition dedicated to the Age of the Commune and the Signories is enriched with the oldest seal matrix of the Municipality of Brescia, dating back to the 13th century and featuring the first view of the city as we know it today, along with a selection of medieval coins minted by the city mint.
Objects and images thus become tools to read history and understand how Brescia has built and represented its identity over time. The new setup also includes tactile panels that make the path accessible to people with visual disabilities.
