From 8 May to 7 June, the Carmine district will be transformed into a vast, widespread exhibition: photographs, stories and faces that span time and capture the identity of one of Brescia’s most authentic neighbourhoods.
A participatory project born from the archives and memories of local residents, reinterpreted by contemporary photographers to forge a dialogue between past and present. Over 400 images, displayed across more than 40 venues including streets, shops, cloisters and iconic landmarks, transform the neighbourhood into a journey to be explored step by step.
Meetings, guided tours, workshops and storytelling help to enrich a programme that puts people and their stories at the centre, giving shape to a shared and living memory.
In collaboration with Brescia City Council, with the support of Fondazione della Comunità Bresciana, Fondazione ASM, BCC GARDA, Retitalia and eSmart. Under the patronage of the Lombardy Regional Council and the Brescia Chamber of Commerce.
