THE MUSEUM

With 600 square meters of vertical space and four trains passing through the city, for a total of approximately 2,000 square meters of urban art, MUM hosts works by prominent artists such as Luca Font, J. Demsky, Joys, Peeta, and Valentina Picozzi. Each intervention goes beyond a simple mural, transforming spaces and trains into works of art to be experienced every day.

The project, which is constantly evolving, takes contemporary art out of traditional museums and into everyday life, enhancing urban spaces and encouraging visitors to reflect on current issues.

MUM also includes the SUBBRIXIA project, launched in 2015, which spans several subway stations and aims to bring contemporary art to high-traffic locations such as subway stations. The works interact with the architecture of the stations and become an integral part of the urban landscape, making the subway not only a means of transportation but also a cultural experience to be enjoyed.

Gothic Minerva by Patrick Tuttofuoco (San Faustino metro station) and Brixia by Marcello Maloberti (FS metro station) are the first permanent works to be installed in the metro system. These were followed by Incancellabile Vittoria by Emilio Isgrò (FS metro station), Mind the gap by Nathalie Du Pasquier (Vittoria metro station), and BrixiaDue by Andreas Angelidakis (Bresciadue metro station).

With SUBBRIXIA, art and sustainable mobility come together every day in a widespread, underground, and living museum that accompanies passengers with unexpected visions in the heart of the city.
