The hill that tells the story of Brescia. An ancient hill, suspended between nature and history. In Brescia, the Cidneo hill is the horizon that sees the birth and growth of the city.

THE PLACE

Cidneo Hill is a hill in the Brescia Prealps that stands right next to the historic center of Brescia, serving as a geographical and symbolic element of the city. Its summit dominates the streets, squares and rooftops of the city, offering natural beauty and breathtaking views of the city, the Po Valley and, on clear days, the Alps.

The history of the hill is very ancient: from its prehistoric and Celtic occupation, through its insertion into the Roman walls at the end of the 1st century BC, up to the development of Brescia Castle which crowns it with its imposing medieval and Renaissance walls. The hill has accompanied the city in almost two thousand years of history, becoming a symbol of defense, culture and collective memory.

Today, Cidneo Hill is open to Brescians and visitors: its routes invite strolls through green spaces, ancient walls, and spectacular views; from the Mirabella Tower to the panoramic terraces, each step recounts a different era.

Cidneo is not just altitude or stone: it is a lived place, where nature, history and city still meet every day.
