WHAT IS BICIBRESCIA
BiciBrescia was launched in 2022 to give a clear identity to a concrete commitment:
making Brescia an increasingly bike-friendly, safe and liveable city. Building cycle paths is not enough. We need to change habits, culture, the way we look at the road.
In Brescia, riding a bike means commuting to work, going to school, heading to the market. It means crossing the city without noise, without rush, without barriers. But it also means taking your time.
A ride in the park after dinner. A coffee in the city centre on a Sunday morning. A climb up to the Castle that reminds you where you are.
Cycling doesn’t take up space — it gives it back.
THE BICIPLAN
Behind BiciBrescia there is a clear strategy: the Biciplan. The Municipal Cycling Mobility Plan, established under national legislation,defines objectives, strategies and actions to:
increase everyday cycling
improve safety for cyclists and pedestrians
connect neighbourhoods, services and key places across the city
make cycling a key player in leisure and tourism as well
