Brescia, a sustainable city
A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE
Brescia is committed to a concrete strategy to combat climate change and improve urban quality of life: with the Air and Climate Plan, the Municipality has initiated targeted interventions to reduce emissions and greenhouse gases, thus safeguarding the well-being of citizens and promoting a more environmentally respectful development model.
Sustainable mobility
A central role is entrusted to the Brescia Mobilità Group, which for years has been developing innovative solutions for moving around the city in a comfortable and ecological way, dealing with:
- public transport – with buses and metro representing the backbone of the system
- sharing mobility – services like E-Vai (electric car sharing), Bicimia (bike sharing), and e-scooter sharing offer practical and green alternatives
- development of future projects – the current network will be complemented by the electric tram for an even more comprehensive and efficient service and the electric lift to the Castle to allow quick and ecological access to the top of Colle Cidneo.
The Brescia Card Museums & Mobility integrates these services with access to the main museums, making it even easier to combine culture and sustainability.

Dedicated cycle paths and projects
The city is criss-crossed by an extensive network of cycle paths that allow two-wheelers to travel around the city, but also connect the urban centre to the lakes and hills, making Brescia an ideal destination for cyclists, families and nature lovers.

As a result of the Municipality of Brescia's focus on two-wheel mobility, in 2022 the city launched BiciBrescia, a project that promotes a culture of cycling and strives to consolidate an active community in support of sustainable mobility.
