A journey through time from the heart of Brescia: Brixia Archaeological Park welcomes visitors into one of the best-preserved Roman complexes in Northern Italy, a unique opportunity to access a dimension in which antiquity is revealed through the re-creation of daily life, religious rites and customs of a flourishing city.

THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL PARK

The Park area includes the Capitolium, the city’s main temple built in the imperial age and still featuring part of its original furnishings; the Republican Sanctuary, a large place of worship enriched with precious frescoes; and the great theatre, which once could host thousands of spectators and remained in use from the Augustan age to Late Antiquity.

In addition to the main attractions, there is the charm of paved streets, columns and architectural decorations that bear witness to the technical progress and artistic refinement of Roman Brixia.

Today the Park is an integral part of the UNESCO site “The Longobards in Italy” and is included in the Corridor that connects the archaeological area with the Santa Giulia Museum: a unique itinerary in which the memory of ancient Rome intertwines with centuries of Brescian history, offering visitors an immersive and timeless experience.
