At the Vantiniano Cemetery, the Capitolium Cultural Association is returning a copy of Francesco Hayez’s painting depicting the ‘Madonna Enthroned with the Infant Jesus’ – once housed within the funerary monument – to the tomb of Giovanni Battista Bossini. The event will also provide an opportunity to rediscover the figure of Bossini, a leading figure in Brescia’s religious and social life, and the historical and artistic significance of the monument designed by Rodolfo Vantini. The brief ceremony will be accompanied by a historical presentation and a liturgy of the word.
