Serena Dandini tells the stories of the twenty-one women elected to the Constituent Assembly in 1946, protagonists of a decisive season in Italian history and the affirmation of women's rights. With her ironic and rigorous style, the author weaves together the stories of the founding Mothers with those of activists, intellectuals, artists, judges, and parliamentarians who, before and after them, contributed to transforming society and challenging habits and prejudices. In dialogue with Carlo Piccinato, a meeting dedicated to memory, civic engagement, and the women who opened new possibilities for future generations.
