Two days to get to know one of the most important figures in Brescia's and Italy's history up close. On Friday, October 23, and Saturday, October 24, the Auditorium of the Santa Giulia Museum hosts the conference "Giuseppe Zanardelli, statesman between Brescia and Rome".
Through the contributions of historians, scholars, and experts, the conference retraces the life and political activity of Giuseppe Zanardelli, from his Risorgimento formation to legal reforms, up to his years leading the Italian government.
Particular attention is given to his relationship with Brescia, the city where Zanardelli was born and to which he remained deeply connected. Documents, testimonies, and new research allow for a deeper understanding of his contribution to the economic, social, and cultural development of the territory.
Event promoted by the University of Brescia – Academy of Sciences, Letters, and Arts, as part of the bicentennial celebrations organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Brescia, Brescia Museums Foundation, and Ugo Da Como Foundation.
